Gen3 structures are engineered for 560W-710W modules and are manufactured domestically, so most structure kits ship within one to two weeks and a complete system is typically operational in six to eight weeks. What Each Stage of a Deployment Involves
Bank assembly. Gen3 floats and rails arrive flat-packed and are assembled on the shoreline next to the water. Crews build the platform in sections, torque the rail hardware, and fit the module clamps before any part of the array touches the water. Because each platform is under 60 feet and separately anchored, a larger system is assembled as several independent units rather than one continuous structure.
Module mounting. Panels are laid into the rails and clamped down while the platform is still on the bank, which keeps the work at ground level. The structure is engineered for 560W-710W modules, so the same platform accommodates both the 560W residential-scale panels and the larger 640W-710W commercial modules used on three-phase systems.
Launch and anchoring. The completed platform is walked or winched into the pond and positioned. Anchoring is site-specific — it depends on pond depth, bottom composition, bank slope and how far the water level moves through the year. Anchoring requirements are reviewed case by case with our engineering partner; structural and anchoring documentation is in development with a Florida PE.
Electrical termination. Module strings are terminated on the platform and routed to shore. The shore connection uses wet-location twist-lock disconnects, which is what allows an array to be electrically disconnected from the shore run ahead of a named storm — see the hurricane protocol for how that works. Final interconnection is performed by a licensed electrician under NEC Article 690 and the local utility's interconnection agreement.
Commissioning. Once interconnection is approved, the system is energized and production is verified against the design estimate. Most structure kits ship within one to two weeks of order, and a complete system is typically operational in six to eight weeks depending on utility timelines and local inspections.
