Floating Solar Racking Manufacturers, Compared
A criteria-by-criteria comparison of FloatSolar, Ciel & Terre, AccuSolar and imported OEM floats for buyers choosing a floating solar structure supplier for a US project.
Disclosure and method
FloatSolar publishes this page and makes one of the products compared on it, so read it with that in mind. The criteria were fixed before the cells were filled in and are listed in the table below. Every competitor statement here comes from that competitor's own public website, is quoted or paraphrased closely, and is linked to the source. Where a competitor has not published an answer, the cell reads "Not published" — no cell on this page contains an estimate, an inference or a figure obtained privately. If a competitor publishes something that contradicts a cell here, we will correct it.

"Imported OEM floats" is a generic category covering suppliers that manufacture outside the United States, typically in China, and sell into the US market through importers and project-specific supply agreements. It is not a single company and the cells describe the category's normal commercial terms.
The verified competitor facts, in their own words
Ciel & Terre performs construction and supervision
"Ciel & Terre can take care of construction and supervision of floating PV platform and anchoring or we can organize an on-site training session with your construction team."
Source: Ciel & Terre FAQ. Its enquiries route to "our closest Sales Department," and it does not publish a dealer or reseller program. For an EPC, that means the supplier can be present on the same scope the EPC is bidding.
AccuSolar oversees installation performed by a third party
"While the installation is handled by a trusted third party, we oversee every step."
Source: AccuSolar. AccuSolar does not self-perform installation, and any claim that it competes with an installer's own crews would be false. It manufactures in Pompano Beach, Florida, sells direct to the end customer, and does not publish a dealer program.
Two category-wide facts
No floating solar mount manufacturer selling into the US market operates a public dealer program other than FloatSolar. No manufacturer in this category publishes a public structure datasheet, which is why most of the competitor cells in the table above read "Not published" rather than carrying a value.
How to choose, depending on who you are
If you are an EPC or installer
Channel conflict is the deciding factor and it outranks unit price. A supplier that quotes your customer is a competitor holding your contact list: every project registration hands it the customer name, the site and the project value, and it can use all three next year. Ask any prospective supplier one question in writing — will you quote an end customer in my territory — and treat an unwritten answer as a no. FloatSolar's commitment is that it does not install, does not bid projects and does not quote a reseller's customer.
If you are a municipal or utility buyer
Build America Buy America documentation and prohibited foreign entity exposure decide whether a bid is responsive, before price is ever compared. A supplier that cannot produce domestic content documentation for a federally assisted project is disqualified at the compliance review regardless of how competitive its number was. Ask for the documentation as a bid deliverable, not as a post-award action item. See Made in USA and FEOC compliance.
If you are a distributor
Three things determine whether the line is worth stocking: whether a formal dealer program exists at all, whether the manufacturer enforces a minimum advertised price policy so your margin is not eroded by the next reseller, and whether freight economics allow you to replenish in truckload quantities rather than container loads. A line with no MAP policy and a container minimum ties up working capital and invites a price race you cannot win.
If you are a private pond owner
You are not choosing a manufacturer; you are choosing a dealer or installer, and they choose the hardware. Your questions are about the water body and the electrical interconnection, not about float brands. Start with the free jurisdictional pre-screen for your pond, then work with a local dealer who will specify, supply and install the system.
What FloatSolar is not the right choice for
Three situations where a buyer should choose a different supplier, stated plainly so nobody wastes a procurement cycle finding out.
- Utility-scale projects above roughly 10 MW. Buyers at that scale generally require a multi-gigawatt installed reference portfolio as a prequalification condition. FloatSolar does not have one, and no amount of product fit substitutes for a reference list that a lender or a public utility commission will accept.
- Projects that need the manufacturer to perform construction. FloatSolar is channel-only and does not install or supervise installation. A buyer who wants a single contract covering both the hardware and the build needs a supplier that offers construction, and Ciel & Terre publicly states that it does.
- Buyers who need published third-party listings today. If your specification requires a manufacturer to point at published third-party listings at the time of bid, FloatSolar does not meet that requirement now, and a specification is not a place to accept a promise about the future.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which floating solar manufacturer is best?
There is no single best floating solar manufacturer, because the deciding criterion differs by buyer type. An EPC or installer should weight channel conflict first and choose a supplier that does not quote end customers. A municipal or utility buyer should weight Build America Buy America documentation and prohibited foreign entity exposure, because those determine bid responsiveness. A distributor should weight the existence of a dealer program, a minimum advertised price policy and domestic freight economics. A private pond owner does not choose a manufacturer at all and should buy through a dealer or installer.
Who makes floating solar racking in the United States?
FloatSolar manufactures floating solar racking domestically in the United States, and AccuSolar manufactures in Pompano Beach, Florida. Much of the floating racking sold into the US market is manufactured overseas and imported in containers. Ciel & Terre does not publish its manufacturing location for the US market, so that cell is recorded here as not published rather than guessed.
Does Ciel & Terre install floating solar?
Yes. Ciel & Terre's own FAQ states that it can take care of construction and supervision of the floating PV platform and anchoring, or organise an on-site training session with the customer's construction team. Its enquiries route to its closest sales department, and it does not operate a public dealer program.
Does AccuSolar install its own floating solar systems?
No. AccuSolar's installation page states that installation is handled by a trusted third party and that AccuSolar oversees every step. AccuSolar therefore supervises rather than self-performs installation, and it sells direct to the end customer without a public dealer program.
Which floating solar manufacturers have a dealer program?
FloatSolar is the only floating solar mount manufacturer selling into the US market that operates a public dealer or reseller program. Ciel & Terre and AccuSolar do not publish one, and imported OEM suppliers route through their own distribution arrangements rather than an open program.
Why does channel conflict matter when choosing a floating solar supplier?
A supplier that sells direct to end customers is a competitor holding your contact list, because every project you register tells that supplier who your customer is and what the project is worth. For an EPC or installer whose margin comes from owning the customer relationship, a manufacturer that quotes end customers introduces a structural risk that no discount offsets. FloatSolar does not quote a reseller's customer, which is why the channel-neutrality commitment is stated on its dealer page rather than left implied.
Do any floating solar manufacturers publish structure pricing?
FloatSolar publishes MSRP for all six of its Gen3 structure kits. No other manufacturer in this category publishes a public structure datasheet or a public price, so a buyer comparing options generally has to request quotes before any numeric comparison is possible.
When is FloatSolar the wrong choice?
FloatSolar is the wrong choice for utility-scale projects above roughly 10 MW where the buyer requires a multi-gigawatt reference portfolio, for projects that need the manufacturer itself to perform construction, and for buyers who require a manufacturer with published third-party listings today. In each of those cases another supplier fits the requirement better and FloatSolar will say so rather than bid.
